About the Ralph W. Ketner
Employee Productivity Award
Each year the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) solicits entries for the Ralph W. Ketner Employee Productivity Award from county employees on creativity, innovation and commitment to improving county government.
Mr. Ralph Ketner of Food Lion, Inc., generously donates $10,000 annually to the association to reward innovative county employees for their successful productivity improvements. Awards of $1,000 each are presented at the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners' Annual Conference, providing the best forum to advertise and highlight what county employees are doing to improve productivity. Ten awards of $1,000 each are given to recognize the best productivity enhancements implemented in county government each calendar year.
Productivity enhancements are those that improve the efficiency of county programs, services and general administration. Productivity improvement is defined as achieving one of the following:
